Charity Shark Tournament

About the Tournament

The Warriors for Warriors Charity Shark Fishing Tournament is being established as an annual fund raiser that is run out of New Jersey’s Manasquan Inlet, featuring US Special Forces combat warrior veterans raising money for charities that support the needs of other combat warrior veterans. Each year, the Tournament will select a specific charity to support, with a focus on organizations that support the needs of our US military combat warrior veterans. For 2014, we are proudly supporting Operation Restored Warrior, a veteran operated 501c3 organization focused on helping prevent veteran suicide.

This tournament is organized by local resident and fisherman Dave Lesperance (boat name: Deal Maker) along with former US Navy SEALs Rich Graham, of Orlando, Florida (originally of Brielle, NJ) and Shannon Rusch of Charlotte, North Carolina (originally Poplar Bluff, Missouri). Rich and Shannon completed BUD/S Class 236 together. Rich was assigned to Team 10 and Shannon to Team 4 and both have had combat deployments worldwide.

The tournament will be a 24 hour tournament, beginning on Friday evening June 13th, after the Captain’s Meeting and end at 7pm on Saturday, June 14th. Weigh ins will be done at Crystal Point Yacht Club beginning at 7:30am on June 14th. Please see the Rules for complete details. Awards will be presented at the after-party fundraising dinner at River Rock Restaurant and Marina Bar on June 14th, which begins at 8:00pm. This fund raiser dinner will provide people the opportunity to meet the Navy SEALs involved and will include a fantastic Chinese Auction for special commemorative items along with a range of really amazing goods/services donated by local businesses and tournament sponsors. Entry to the after party fund raising dinner is a donation of $30 per person and will include free food and discounted drinks. Tournament winners will get in free of charge.
